Some mixed media fun projects
The Raven Nevermore - Photos of each step are an example of how you can use many layers and colours.
I started the background by applying 3 different blue distress paints to a 6x6 chipboard with a baby wipe.
Then some spray stain and ink blended. I didn't want the spots from the spray on the clouds so I wiped it off with a baby wipe (and my fingers).
The sunburst was kind of disappearing so I added a bit more yellow ink to it as well as another faint stencil.
Lastly, I painted the raven with black paint and outlined it with a gel pen. I then wrote a portion of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven" along the outside edge.

The next step was to add the sunburst and blend in some yellow ink.
I added a border by stamping with purple ink and blended the outer border. Using a blending foam with stamps and stencils helps to soften the edges.
I used black and brown ink to apply a script stencil and drew the outline from a photo I had taken.
And there you have it! You can see that some of the elements get very faint in some areas, but that's what gives it such a fun layered look.
